Every Friday, every STRUKT project sends the client one report: cost against estimate, schedule against plan, quality inspections and safety data. It has looked the same on every project for eight years.
It is short on purpose. Risks are flagged in the first paragraph, with an owner and a date. A client should be able to read it in five minutes and know whether to pick up the phone.
What is in it
Cost: committed, spent and forecast against the agreed estimate, line by line.
Schedule: progress against the baseline, the critical path and any float used that week.
Quality: inspections passed, failed and re-inspected, with photos of every hold point.
Safety: hours worked, near misses reported, stop-work calls and any incident, however small.
Why one report
Clients should not have to chase three people for three answers. One report, one project director, every week. It forces us to look at cost, time, quality and safety together, because a problem in one almost always shows up in the others first.
If a risk is in the report, it has an owner and a date. If it is not in the report, we have not found it yet, and that is the one that worries us.

Every hold point inspection is photographed and logged for Friday’s report.
What clients do with it
Most clients forward it straight to their board or their lender. Some read it in the car on the way to the weekly site meeting. A few have told us it is the only construction document they read in full.
Every client gets the report from the first week of pre-construction to the last week of the defects period, in the same format, from the same project director.
